£9m COVID-Busting Lending Milestone Supports Over 350 SMEs

Our News

We are delighted to announce that we have provided a COVID-busting number of business loans in the last financial year to support businesses during the pandemic.

Thanks to our fantastic team’s hard work throughout the incredibly busy period, we have delivered £9,013,518 of business loans, supporting 353 small and medium-sized businesses.

The funding, which is a 122% increase in lending from the previous year, has created 527 jobs and 286 new businesses whilst also funding 67 business expansions.

First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans general manager, Adrian Twelvetrees, explained that, as a not-for-profit organisation, we will remain committed to supporting SMEs as lockdown eases:

“We are delighted to have been able to help so many SMEs during this incredibly challenging and disruptive time for business owners.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and we remain committed to supporting SMEs that are unable to access finance from traditional high street banks as lockdown eases.”

We offer business loans ranging from £500 to £250,000 and are one of a few organisations nationally that lend money to small business, entrepreneurs and social enterprises unable to borrow from high street banks.

If you’re based in the East Midlands or South East Midlands and would like to apply for a business loan, call us on 0115 942 3772 or complete an enquiry form in the link above.
