Midlands Engine Investment Fund

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) is a collaboration between The British Business Bank and 10 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPS) across the Midlands. As part of our partnership, we manage the £13 million small business loans pot for the East and South East Midlands. MEIF small business loans range from £25,001 to £150,000 and are available to new and growing businesses. They can be used for a range of purposes, including asset acquisitions, filling gaps in growth capital and funding expansion plans.

If you're running a start-up, you probably don't yet have any major assets or a proven track record. As a result, you may find it difficult obtaining the finance you need to get your business moving.

You're not alone. Almost 50% of fledgling businesses in the Midlands encounter difficulties in finding required levels of investment. 30% are unable to obtain any finance at all - a figure that's even higher for micro businesses with under 9 people. Our Small Business Loan option is designed for micro businesses and SMEs needing debt finance for a wide range of purposes including filling gaps in working capital, funding expansion projects, leasing commercial premises and asset acquisitions. Rates depend on the Local Enterprise Partnership that is managing the fund, but tend to be in line with standard bank loans. Make an Enquiry
